Our Story
Sunny Sets Women’s Surf Comp was born from a dream to create a space where women of all ages and skill levels could come together to celebrate the art of longboarding, the joy of surfing, and the unmatched beauty of Noosa’s iconic waves.
As surfers ourselves, we know that the lineup isn’t just a place to catch waves – it’s a place to connect, grow, and inspire one another. Sunny Sets isn’t just a longboarding competition, it’s a celebration of everything that makes surfing special: the style, the stoke, and the sisterhood.
From the very beginning, we’ve been fuelled by the support of an incredible community, and this event wouldn’t be possible without the Noosa Mal Club, whose partnership has helped bring our vision to life. Volunteers, local businesses, and surf lovers like you have helped turn this dream into a reality. It’s thanks to this collective effort that we can deliver an event that’s as sparkly and unforgettable as a glassy day at First Point.

Volunteer
Sunny Sets Women’s Surf Comp needs volunteers in the lead-up to our longboarding contest and during the event to make it as sparkly as an empty First Point lineup!
We’re looking for people of all ages, genders, and experience levels who are keen to get involved in any way they can.
You can simply put up your hand as an all-rounder to help out wherever needed (for as little or as not little time as you’d like!), or let us know if you have specific skills or interests in any of the following:
- Event logistics – set up and pack down, etc
- Photography
- Videography
- Drone photography/videography
- Food Prep
- Media Relations
- Any other amazing skills or experience you have to offer!
